DIA PEP Training Schedule
The
is a free one-week (40 hour) training program for young adults who want to learn
about police work.

Monday, June 7 through Friday, June 11, 2010 daily from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm
Students will
receive hands-on training in several law enforcement skill sets. Courses include demonstrations by the SWAT
team, canine officers, training in law, police procedures and hands-on training
in handcuffing, less lethal weapon systems and several police actions.
Our goal is to provide the students with the opportunity to
find out what a career in the police department is really like. In addition to the law enforcement training,
students will receive instruction on how to prepare themselves for a career in
law enforcement, including additional opportunities for more training provided
by the City and County of Denver.
ELIGIBILITY:
The Denver Police Department’s
Youth Academy is open to all
persons who:
-Are at least 16 but not more than 20 years of age
-Have a cumulative GPA of 2.0 or higher
-Pass a thorough background investigation conducted by the
Denver Police Department
There is a limit of thirty students for the 2010
Youth Academy. The Denver Police Department will select the
thirty applicants best suited for the academy based on the applications and
results of the background investigation.
