Assessor's Office
Protesting Your Property Value for 2012
You may appeal your 2012 valuation by filing an objection with the Assessor. You may file
online, or you may send an
appeal form via mail or fax. The deadline to file, including postmark, is June 1, 2012.
An abatement petition to the BoCC may also be filed objecting to a prior year's value, within two years of the issuance of a tax bill measured from January 1 to the year following the year in which the taxes were levied. For example, 2010 property values for which an owner did not file a protest to the Assessor and for which a tax bill was issued in January 2011 may be appealed to the BoCC on or before January 1, 2013.
