Redistricting is the process of redrawing electoral boundaries in counterbalance to population growth to protect the power of one person, one vote.  This remapping of local, state, and federal political districts occurs once every ten years and, guided by the decennial United States Census, is designed to preserve voting equity and equality in our ever-expanding electorates.

To put is simply, Denver is not generating enough revenue to keep up with what it costs to run the city.  If we can’t figure out a way to fix our current financial structure, it is projected that the shortfall between revenue and expenditures will result in a $30 million dollar short fall every year for the next 17 years. To make matters worse, this $30 million dollar gap doesn’t include services above and beyond what we need and use today..

Dog and Cat Lovers Beware

In the grand scheme of things that Denver City Council is involved with, this may not seem like a big deal, but for dog and cat owners, I want to make sure you are aware of your responsibilities within the city boundaries. When the issue of a $150 (approximately) fee for a lifetime pet license came to City Council, it wasn’t clear to me whether the requirement for a license mandated that the animal have vaccinations.  This to me was a greater public safety issue.  Click Here for Full Story
