The Metro Denver Living Streets Initiative
Living Streets are vibrant places where people of all ages and physical abilities feel safe and comfortable using any mode of travel (walking, biking, transit, or private auto).
Living Streets combine context sensitive development with complete streets to offer solutions that promote active living, increase mobility, capitalize on infrastructure investments and stimulate economic development on our most traveled urban corridors. Living Streets attract, concentrate and connect vibrant and sustainable development that accommodates growth while preserving what makes Colorado special.

In an effort to implement the goals of Blueprint Denver, the City and County of Denver has initiated a comprehensive review of the City’s parking system, with a special emphasis on parking regulation and management practices. The Strategic Parking Plan will develop a framework for managing parking in Denver, recognizing the needs of drivers, pedestrians, business owners, and residents of Denver neighborhoods.

The City and County of Denver Department of Community Planning and Development in conjunction with our partners, including Public Works, and the Office of Economic Development, RTD and others, is conducting a major planning initiative to facilitate appropriate transit oriented development near current and future station locations. The planning process will identify a vision and strategies to direct appropriate change at these station areas and utilize the transit investment as a catalyst to enrich and enhance Denver’s neighborhoods.
