As a Cadet you will work at a regular assignment within the Fire, Police, or Sheriff Departments. Cadets rotate their regular assignment every six months. Typically Cadets will work a January through June assignment and then a July through December assignment.
Some of the assignments that Cadets work include: Metro Swat, Police Gun Range, Police Academy, Police District Stations, Fugitive Unit, Vice and Narcotics, Photo Crime Lab, Fire Academy, Arson Investigations, Fire Headquarters, Vehicle Impound, Denver Detention Center, Fire Operations, DIA Fire, and more.
In addition to working at a regular assignment, Cadets also work special assignments throughout the month. These special assignments include: traffic control at parades, bike races, marathons, community outreach, assisting with vice operations, DUI checkpoints, and more.
